Friendship Train’s team is an ever-expanding group of talented and passionate people who work to build community, foster relationships, and help those in need.
With more than 30 years of experience in business administration and management, Deborah excels at providing the needed support to move projects along from concept to completion. She was involved with all phases of the start-up of the afterschool programs at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Asbury Park and continues to be involved with the foundation’s expansion efforts and community outreach.
Connie Isbell Nathanson
Connie divides her time between a variety of foundation projects and her work with STEAM enrichment programs at schools in Asbury Park and elsewhere. Connie has a background in communications and an interest in education; she is always looking for ways to combine creative programming ideas with talented and passionate people in the community—a winning combination for students.
Family Support Coordinator
Claudia provides support to the families affiliated with the foundation in the areas of education, medical care, and legal assistance. Her work with the families includes translation assistance and transportation, as well as help accessing services such as tutoring and summer camps.
Susan is the friendly face and voice that greets those who visit or call FTF. Susan’s experience is diverse and accomplished, having worked in areas of education and nonprofit, as well as law, accounting, real estate, and health care. Her skills and calm demeanor are valued at FTF as she supports the work being done in the office and out in the field.
STEM Advisor and Instructor
Michelle brings to FTF her experience as STEM Program Manager and Camp Director for the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore. Working in afterschool programming and informal education has become a passion. Being able to watch children grow—cognitively, emotionally and socially—through hands-on learning is an experience she hopes to bring to more communities.
